Salerno Family Tornado Story (External Link)

About two years ago, a tornado struck the Salerno family's neighborhood in Kenosha.
Nancy Salerno says there was very little warning the storm was coming, but they were able to safely make it to their basement in time. "The weather radio alerted our family about the proximity and the severity of the storm."
In a new public service announcement by Wisconsin Emergency Management, the Salernos look back on that day and think about what could have happened if they hadn't had that weather radio. "Since the tornado, we are a 2 weather radio family. We have one that is upstairs and we have one that is downstairs," says Salerno.
