American Red Cross: As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services, always with the aim of preventing and relieving suffering.
FEMA: The primary mission of the Federal Emergency Management Agency is to reduce the loss of life and property and protect the Nation from all hazards, including natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made disasters, by leading and supporting the Nation in a risk-based, comprehensive emergency management system of preparedness, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation.
Lutheran Social Services: Lutheran Social Services (LSS) of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan is the social ministry arm of over 800 Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregations in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Our mission is Motivated by the compassion of Christ, we help people improve the quality of their lives.
Ready America: Ready is a national public service advertising campaign designed to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to emergencies including natural disasters and potential terrorist attacks. The goal of the campaign is to get the public involved and ultimately to increase the level of basic preparedness across the nation.
Ready Kids: Discovery Education provides engaging digital resources to schools and homes with the goal of making educators more effective, increasing student achievement, and connecting classrooms and families to a world of learning.
VOAD: National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (National VOAD) is the forum where organizations share knowledge and resources throughout the disaster cycle-preparation, response and recovery-to help disaster survivors and their communities.
Volunteer Wisconsin: The Volunteer Center Association of Wisconsin is a professional network of volunteer center staff which provides support for program development, educational opportunities, mentoring for new volunteer centers and their staff, and shared promotional efforts of effective volunteer centers in order to have a greater impact on volunteerism statewide.
WEAVR: The Wisconsin Emergency Assistance Volunteer Registry, or WEAVR, collects and stores contact information on volunteers interested in filling critical response and recovery roles following a major public health emergency.
We Partner: WePartner is a statewide public-private partnership between public safety officials, businesses, and community organizations collaborating to manage risk, build resilience, and strengthen disaster response and recovery. WePartner offers programs to improve information sharing, resource coordination, risk assessment, and joint planning and training among partners.
Wisconsin Emergency Management: Wisconsin Emergency Management efforts are coordinated with local, state, tribal and federal agencies, as well as volunteer and private sector partners. We support 72 Wisconsin counties and bring emergency management services to the states 5.5 million citizens. Our central office is located in Madison and we have six regional offices that provide local support.
ReadyWisconsin is an initiative of Wisconsin Emergency Management designed to educate and empower Wisconsinites to prepare for
and respond to all kinds of emergencies including natural disasters and potential terrorist attacks.
