During a period lasting from August 17 through September 14, 2018, heavy rains and strong storms resulted in widespread flooding across Wisconsin. The weather system damaged homes, roads, and businesses in multiple counties.
President Donald J. Trump has granted a federal disaster declaration for Wisconsin. Residents in Crawford, Dane, Juneau, La Crosse, Monroe, Richland, Sauk, and Vernon counties who had damage as a result of the flooding and storms can find information on applying for FEMA assistance at https://www.disasterassistance.gov/ or by calling 1-800-621-3362 (1-800-462-7585 TTY). The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.(local time) seven days a week until further notice.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution on all area roads and are reminded not to drive through standing water.
